STORY
In 1965, after a lifetime of experience in the manufacture of this art, Francisco Gonçalves de Pinho opens his own men’s footwear workshop. The factory, with more than 50 years and located in the region with the greatest tradition in the manufacture of classic shoes in Portugal, is still operating today in the original location.
Now it’s his children, Domingos and Francisco Pinho, who keep alive the spirit and the commitment to produce handmade footwear following the quality standards.
The domestic market has always been the main destination of its footwear, namely classic shoe stores, but the year 2020 marks a new strategic development for the brand, combining it’s classic nature with a mentality more focused on marketing and international expansion.
Today ELCI wants to continue to tell stories from the past but with the future always in mind.

We are looking for quality and durable materials. ELCI shoes will provide comfort and, with proper care, last for a considerable time. In any case, if you want to extend the life of your shoes, we can also make repairs.

Manual labor and the quality of raw materials can make footwear more expensive, but at ELCI, we believe in an approach based on ethics and responsible action aimed at the care and protection of people, at the same time that we try to practice fair prices for everyone and maintain an unbreakable bond with local roots.
Here, we still preserve the various construction methods (blake, hand glove stitching) and the various classic techniques, we manufacture shoes of lasting quality that continue to represent the history and richness of the industrial and cultural heritage of Portuguese footwear.
